It's tough for Australia to achieve unprecedented feats.

The highest peaks have already been conquered.

We're talking about the squad that has secured seven Cricket World Cups, along with another six T20 titles, and once went nearly four years without defeat in 50-over cricket.

The alternative records, targeted by the record chasers, are all that remain for a side that has won it all.

It needed until Sunday's victory by three wickets over India for them to complete their first ODI chase exceeding 300, reclaiming their record for the highest in women's cricket's 50-over format, is, honestly, a testament to the pitchers that have worn canary yellow over five decades.

It is hard for their batters to hold a record if not provided the opportunity.

In the end, the consequence of Australia allowing 330 runs was captain Alyssa Healy being given a platform to produce her latest masterpiece.

Originally famous as the young family member of celebrated previous Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she made her debut in 2010 after her nation didn't secure either of the T20 or ODI World Cups held the previous year and has witnessed all through 15 championship-filled years since.

A T20 World Cup win arrived three months after her first appearance and seven international trophies have followed from 10 tries across formats.

The determined wicketkeeper was present as well in Derby in 2017 when a last-four loss by India briefly halted the successful run.

That loss "pushed us to rethink our standards," Healy said this week.

At the subsequent ODI World Cup in New Zealand, Healy made 170 against England in the title decider and was awarded tournament MVP. She guaranteed her country would not fail again.

The question of whether this newest brilliant performance exceeded that prior achievement can be debated.

Many contend the case for championship match pressure. Others can counter with the test that comes when facing a record target and a loud pro-India audience of 20,000.

What's clear is this ton was far harder to anticipate.

The Christchurch destruction in 2022 occurred when she topped the run-scoring charts, but this innings followed six innings in India since the start of last month in which she had been unable to reach 30.

"If you've been watching me in the nets, it has been a frustrating experience because it appeared I lacked timing whatsoever," stated Healy.

"But once you take the field, your competitive nature kick in and you just lock into the match."

A single came off the opening delivery and from that point Healy was in motion.

"An opportunity to go out there and engage in competition with her and merely enjoy the moment in that aspect, kind of motivated me," said Healy.

She achieved fifty in 35 balls - her fastest at the global tournament - and her century in 84 balls as she punished short deliveries, striking 21 boundaries and three maximums.

Once she was removed her side needed 66 more at a run-a-ball - a manageable total now demanding an easy conclusion.

"To chase 330 is unfamiliar ground so I'm pleased we have the assurance to achieve that now," continued Healy.

"Hopefully we don't have to do it again but, if we do, we know we can achieve it."

These statements will be the final thing rival teams at this tournament should hear.

In recent days a belief they will succeed regardless of circumstances has grown stronger - this success coming after win against Pakistan by 107-run victory despite struggling at 76-7 at a certain moment.

Subsequently Australia meet Bangladesh before a match against traditional opponents England in Indore in ten days, by which point a semi-final berth may likely be confirmed.

It was in the semi-finals they were eliminated from last year's T20 World Cup in a surprising setback by South Africa - a match Healy missed because of torn tissue in her foot as she led her country for the inaugural occasion at a significant event.
