"The internet knows no borders," Finlayson remarked. "There's a kind milieu within which stuff flows – at times manifesting in radical ways and other times more moderately – but which is networked."

Professor Hinton said the expansion of the internet-based right wing in the UK recently meant the "potential to have a increasing influence is substantial."
